What is Supported Independent Living?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS-funded support designed for people with higher support needs. It provides funding for support workers to assist you at home—whether you live in shared accommodation, a private rental, with family, or in your own property. SIL is funded under the Core Supports category of your NDIS plan and is tailored to your individual needs.

In your SIL NDIS plan, Supported Independent Living is funded by the Core Supports budget, under ‘Assistance with Daily Life.’
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is for people who need specialist housing. It is assessed separately and funded under the Capital Supports Budget.
